Trapped

When you loved, you loved with all your heart and your soul.
When you made it official, the heart was not loved, and the soul was sucked right out—one year at a time.

First, you lost your name, then you lost your identity.
And slowly, you lost yourself.
Waking up for someone else,
and sleeping thinking about them.
You mend your days,
to tend to their ways.
You spend sleepless nights,
when they snooze away.
The dark circles are the only proof,
of the internal turmoil on your face.

But a smile and a laugh easily mask the farce.
As you don’t recognise yourself, you wonder.
Is it right to bring another into the world?
Get an accomplice and be trapped away?
